Jacob joined Pender Ventures in 2025 to help build the firm’s presence in Alberta. Previously, he served as a Senior Ventures Associate at Plug and Play Alberta, where he led a team across four verticals, sourcing and evaluating a wide range of startups, and guiding investments in healthcare technology. Prior to Plug and Play, Jacob co-founded Bloom Bioworks, was the first employee at MagicMed Industries (acquired by Enveric Biosciences) and held an operational role at Willow Biosciences.
Jacob is passionate about building the startup ecosystem in Alberta and he is an active mentor with a number of Alberta-based incubators and accelerators. He holds an MBT and a BHSc from the University of Calgary.
